Children and figurines
April 27th, 2007
Through imagination you can build up a fantastic collection of dolphin figurines that can be used for expert story telling. Imagine, all you teachers out there, the power of using figurine props in your story telling exploits and the positive results you might get in your class!
Figurines are wonderful gift and collectors items. Sometimes referred to as dolls or small statues, they can make amazing home decorative or collectibles display pieces for any home or office, school etc.
Most children can relate to dogs and enjoy their pets at a young age. So, for example, you can buy your child a pewter dolphin figurine that goes with a story, and they can keep it on their bedside table. They will then be able to relate the figurine to the story, which can make it more real for them. Their imaginations are already so wide and once they have the pewter dolphin figurine to associate their fairytale or story to, it becomes more concrete for them. You might even find once your child has a nice collection they may begin to create their own stories and games which will help with their creative thinking later in life.
Create your own stories using the power of animation via your figurine collection. Your child or class (if you are a teacher) can provide feedback on the figurine and think about what it represents, lives and any associated history it may have. This can make learning fun and engaging and provide great benefit for any child.
Here are some types you could get:
cherub figurines
cow figurines
chihuahua figurines
german shepherd figurines
penguin figurines
dog figurines
charming tails figurines
china figurines
What happens when you children grow up? Don’t despair, you did not buy the crystal animals and figurines for nothing. They will not be forgotten, maybe just for a little while as they grow up into teenagers and find other interests. Collect the pewter dolphin figurines and put them into a glass cabinet for the meantime as display, or pack them into the beautifully carved wooden chest in your room for a couple of years until they will become of use again. And they will.
If you consider your figurine collection to be of great value, you should consider passing it on to your future generations since collectible figurines increase in value over time. You will be surprised to know that there is a science to collecting figurines and the more you become involved in the hobby the more you will love it!
I am sure you will find many other ways of having fun with your pewter dolphin figurines as you read fairytales and other stories to your children. The whole process of looking for the right figurine to go with the story and adding to their collection and to yours, is an enjoyable experience for all.
