Creating a figurine zoo is a fun idea, isn’t it? You can have a little group of still animals to take care of and display all of your own. You will not have to feed them, but you will need to dust them every once in a while. A figurine zoo is a great way to show your love for animals without actually having real ones. If you are interested in creating a figurine zoo, continue reading.
The first step in creating a figurine zoo is determining the exact location. If you have a few shelves to work with, great. The other option is to have a table or a small area of floor space available in a corner of a room. Measure out enough space for the animals that you want to include in your figurine zoo.
The next step is to collect the figurines. You may have to shop around for a while in order to find all of the animals. The usual animals that you would find in a zoo are a lion, tiger, bear, giraffe, zebra, and elephant. These animal figurines will be the easiest to find in stores and online. You might be able to find other animals like birds, and if you can find them, the better your zoo will be. Make sure that they are all a proportionate size, or the zoo just won’t look right. You may want to look at some pictures of these animals just to be sure of their relative sizes.
Once you have all of your figurines, it is time to set up the zoo. You can add some fake grass or a little area of sand in the zoo area. You might want to put up a small tree figurine, or put up several trees and bushes. Make a separate space for each animal, so they don’t hurt each other.
Now you can put each animal in their special place. You can have them next to each other, facing one another, or facing forward. If you really want to get creative, you can add tiny people figurines looking at the animals in your zoo. Tiny human figurines will be a little bit more difficult to find, however.
Take care of your animals by dusting them regularly. Don’t let the kids play with them, figurines are easily breakable.
There you have it. That is how you can create your own figurine zoo with animal figurines.

If you are looking for a gift that will be unique and personal, then giving a figurine is an excellent choice. It doesn’t matter what the age or gender of the person is, figurines are always appreciated.
There are many people who like to collect figurines. If you have a friend or loved one who collects them you should know, they can never have too many. You won’t go wrong by adding one or even several to their collection. Many people find that figurines are fun to collect because you can display them almost anywhere in your home or even at work. They can add to the theme of a child’s room or they can brighten up a dull corner in your living room.
Figurines are a great gift idea because you can find one that will fit any personality. This can be especially helpful if you are having trouble finding a gift for that person who has everything. You should be able to find a figurine that they don’t have.
Figurines can be very elegant or they can be playful and charming. There are crystal figurines that you might want to give to your sophisticated adult friend or family member. Then there are character figurines, such as Disney characters, that you might want to give to a child or even to an adult who still loves their favorite childhood cartoon characters.
There are even places that will customize a figurine to resemble someone you know. If you have a photo of someone, a figurine can be crafted into a cartoon style face to resemble the person in the photo. This can be a really unique gift. You can also give figurines that represent an important event that someone has experienced or places they have traveled. Or they can represent something that someone hopes to achieve in the future. You can also find religious figurines for almost any religion, which always mean a lot to people of faith.
Figurines can be expensive or they can be cheap. For example, a crystal figurine may cost more than one made from porcelain, depending on where you buy it from and if it is considered to be an antique. Crystal figurines can be found in many department stores, while porcelain figurines can be found in almost any discount store.
Giving personalized figurines to a friend or loved one is also a way of showing someone you have noticed what they like or what is important to them. They will know right away that you put some thought into their gift That kind of gift will be appreciated by anyone.

After a few years of collecting crystal figurines your display shelf or curio cabinet can begin to look cluttered or disorganized. A good way to solve this problem is to theme your collection.
Here are a few simple tips that will make your display dazzle with interest. Look over your crystal figurines and identify those figurines that have something in common. For example, you might have a crystal elephant, a horse on a ball, and a clown. The theme here would be a circus.
If your crystal figurine collection is comprised of all animals, view them as farm animals, forest animals, jungle animals, zoo animals and build a cluster of figurines in these groups. Dolphins, oysters, starfish, lighthouses and sailboats create an ocean theme. The different themes are limited only by the figurines in your collection and your imagination.
Some collectors focus on one category of figurines such as butterflies or frogs or dogs. In this case, you can theme by manufacturer, color, size, style or artistic value. Each of these themes can be made attractive and interesting.
Collectors who have only a few crystal figurines can combine two or three figurines together in a group. Placing a crystal butterfly next to a crystal rose figurine is a nice touch, or placing a frog under a mushroom works nicely. Think about relationships and you’ll come up with lots of ideas and combinations.
The best time to reorganize your crystal collection is the day you clean and dust your display. As you remove the figurines, place them on a large table in the appropriate groupings you have identified. Once all the crystal figurines are on the table, you have plenty of room to rearrange each grouping according to size and eye appeal.
Spend some time on this activity to get the best visual effect that you can. Does the grouping look better with the figurines facing each other or all facing in the same direction. What is the best angle placement for each figurine in relation to the other figurines in the group? Obviously the larger figurines should be behind the smaller figurines.
But what do you do if all the figurines are about the same size? Try placing small, clear plastic stands of varying heights to raise the figurines in the back of the grouping. Varying heights adds interest and focus to the theme. You may have to do some searching for the plastic stands. Try arts and crafts shops and collectible stores.
Avoid using solid material for stands in a lighted curio cabinet. It will block some of the light filtering down through the figurines and glass shelving and create unwanted shadows. Figurine displays on a solid wood shelf or in a bookcase would not be affected by solid or colored stands. Just remember, under certain lighting conditions, crystal figurines will pick up and reflect the colors around them. Is that an effect that you want?
Now that you have all your theme groups laid out and adjusted for height, you can begin placing them back in the display cabinet or on the shelf. When the display area is completed, stand back and visually check each theme group. Can you see all of the figurines in the group? Can you immediately identify the theme? Make your final adjustments and you’re finished. Sit back and enjoy your beautiful crystal figurine collection.
If you want a stunning display of crystal figurines theme your crystal figurine collection. Your display will be organized, interesting and have great eye appeal

It may seem strange at first to think you could build a crystal figurine collection with fairy tales, but it is a simple and fun approach to collecting. You will need three things to get you started:
1. A good anthology of Fairy Tales 2. A reliable source where you can purchase the crystal figurines 3. A young child who loves having stories read to him/her.
One of the marvelous things about fairy tales is the numerous little creatures and animals that are mentioned in the stories. Children love the animals, especially if there are good illustrations along with the story. There are rabbits, bears, elephants, snails, fish, and butterflies and so on throughout the list of fairy tales. The good thing is that there are crystal figurines available for almost any animal you can name.
Your first step is to find a good anthology of fairy tales with beautiful, whimsical illustrations. While a new book from your favorite book store might be expensive, you can find more reasonably priced books in book swap stores, used book stores, local libraries that offer clearance sales and even garage sales.
Your second step is to locate a reliable retail store that carries crystal animal figurines at a price that fits your budget. Try gift shops and specialty stores in your local mall or shopping center. You can also find retailers on the internet. There are literally hundreds of internet stores offering crystal animal figurines in different sizes, shapes, design, quality, color and price ranges.
Your last step is to tie the crystal figurine and the fairy tale together. You can do this in several ways. You can buy a crystal animal figurine mentioned in the story first and have it available when you start the story. Or you can read the story to your child and find out which animal he or she likes the best and then purchase that crystal animal. Last, you can purchase your figurines spread out over time as your budget permits. One thing you can count on is reading the same fairy tales again and again and again. No matter which path you choose, your child will always have the opportunity to see and hold the figurine when you are reading the tale.
After several years of reading fairy tales and other stories, you’ll find that you have acquired a nice collection of crystal figurines. At the same time, you have provided many hours of enjoyment to your youngster. The figurines and the stories will be very special to your child for awhile. They grow so fast and move on to new adventures. But you will always have the crystal animal figurines and the memories of the evenings you read the fairy tales and shared the crystal figurines with your child.
You really can build your crystal figurine collection with fairy tales as well as making bedtime for your child a fun and exciting activity. As the saying goes, “Two birds with one stone.
